Mrs. Sharon J. Hill is a Human Relations Strategist and Community Advocate, recognized for her decades of leadership and service in housing, civil rights, and community outreach. She is the outgoing GA NAACP State Conference Housing Taskforce and Committee Chair and a Subscribing Life Member of the Cobb County Branch since 1990. Honored as the 2017 Volunteer of the Year (with her husband, Calvin Hill), the 2018 Unsung Hero of Zion Baptist Church, and the 2019 Cobb County MLK Jr. Day “Living the Dream” Awardee, she has also been recognized as the 2020 League of Women Voters/Marietta-Cobb Women’s History Month “Woman of Action” and the 2022 GA NAACP State Conference Women’s History Month Honoree.
In addition to serving as a Cobb Regional Coordinator, her work spans The Peoples’ Agenda, Zion Baptist Church, the Cobb Collaborative, and numerous housing and equity initiatives. Married to her high school sweetheart for 43 years, she is a devoted wife, mother of six, and grandmother of six. Guided by her signature belief “For the folding chairs at the table, be the difference with intentional influence for the common good” Mrs. Hill continues to inspire and impact communities with purpose and dedication.
