The Creators’ Rights Movement Advocacy Board guides the organization’s policy, education, and community engagement efforts, bringing decades of experience in legislation, civil rights, community organizing, and cultural leadership to the fight for creator ownership and protection.

State Legislator (Ret.) · Civil Rights Advocate
Retired Georgia State Legislator and lifelong civil rights advocate who has organized since age 13, working alongside Dr. Joseph E. Lowery and Martin Luther King III at the SCLC. She served eight years in the Georgia General Assembly and serves today as Vice-Chair of MARTA, bringing decades of legislative and coalition-building experience to creator advocacy.

Founder and CEO of the Kennedy Austin Foundation, the family-crisis intervention nonprofit she built after losing her son in 1992. An author, speaker, and grief counselor with an honorary ThD, Ethel has spent three decades serving youth, families, and underserved communities through grief support, mentorship, and social justice work.

Veteran music-industry professional, community elder, and mentor with deep roots in Harlem and Mount Vernon, New York. Father of hip-hop pioneer Doug E. Fresh, he brings a multi-generational perspective to creator advocacy through decades of work in youth education, mentorship, and violence prevention.
The Creators’ Rights Movement brings creators, advocates, industry professionals, and supporters together around a shared goal: helping creators understand their rights, protect their work, maintain ownership, and build stronger creative futures.
